Any non-folding out hard shell RTT's around 80 inches?

I really don't want my RTT to stick out past the tailgate on my 6'5" truck bed. This means, using an elevated bed rack, I have about 80 inches to work with.

I have seen that the James Baroud Evasions are listed at 78.5" and everything else I have researched seems to be well over 83-84-85". I have looked into roofnest, autohome and tepui, but all of them would stick out and really annoy me.

I have seen Roam making a Hardshell RTT but while on youtube it doesn't seem to be on the site to buy yet. I would buy the Baroud but it seems to be out of stock and no one answers when I call to inquire about ordering times.

Are there any other hard shell tents, price be damned, I should look into that pop straight up that doesn't require folding out like an iKamper Mini?

thank you in advance.

Fastest set up I've seen, not sure it meets your requirements tho. But set up is like 1 minute.

As for out of stock....... Bad time to buy anything not in stock.

Baroud is where it's at. I've owned so many RTT's I wish I would have just got the Baroud from Day 1 and saved myself a lot money and headache. Have you talked to Adventure Ready? As I understand it, they're the North American dealer for Baroud tents now. They had quite a few in stock when I picked mine up from their shop not too long ago.

Thanks for the Idea! I haven't heard of Freespirit and will look into them. I just checked it out and see at least one that is 80"... so thank you.

Adaml... I have tried calling a few times but no one answers. This virus has messed up a lot of shop hours and supply chains so maybe that has something to do with it.

It could be - They're usually pretty good about it. I'd try sending some emails and maybe trying to get in touch with them on Instagram or something as well. Do what you want to do but I will NEVER deal with another folding tent and those stupid canvas covers. Clamshells or pop-ups for me.

I am interested in what problems you have run into with JB. I have had one for about 5 or 6 years and have nothing but good things to say about it. The couple of RTT's that I had previous to the JB were not a positive experience.
I would also be interested in what you've got to say. I've owned 6 different tents over the past few years, always eschewing James Baroud because of the price. Now that I've finally come round, I wish I'd just done it from the beginning. No tent I've owned (or seen) has been "perfect" for us, but this one is a close as it comes. If I was able to go with something smaller (i.e. if it was just for me or just for me and my wife), I might have done something different but as far as large RTT's go, I think it's JB or Autohome (but I think JB is still the better tent).

A few of the roofnest models should fit. I rented one in CO and it was great. The mattress is almost as good as sleeping at home. Some of the models measure at 50x84".

Are there any James Baroud sellers in the United States that aren't selling them at giant markups? If you check the US website there going for $3k-$4k but nothing is in stock and everywhere else they start at $4.5k+.

Count my family in as happy with JB. We did have a quality problem on the first tent we received from them - good customer service and they immediately replaced the tent, and it's been awesome for 2.5 years since.
