Any one know the width of the tread face on a 33x9.5R15 BFG AT

Per BFG the AT tire casing in this size measures 9.5" on a 7.5" rim, but I am looking for the width of the tread face not the casing. I am trying to determine if the 33x9.5 or 10.5 AT has a tread width that most closely matches my 255/85R16 BFG MTs. The 255 MT has a tread width of 8" per my measurement.

Some manufacturers list a tread width along with section width on the spec tables. BFG unfortunately is not one of them.

Which is why I was hoping to get a measurement "on the ground" so to speak. I want to match the tread width on my BFG MTs and if the 7" quoted by HenryJ is correct then the 33x10.5 will be the way to go.

Is anyone running the 33x10.5 that can take a measurement for me?

Just measured mine... right around 8 1/16" wide.

UHHH.. going strictly by sight it seems to me the AT's MIGHT have a wider tread pattern than my MT's. I got a tad confused by your original post mentioning both AT and MT's.

Sorry about the confusing question. I run 255/85R16 BFG MTs currently. I plan to run the AT as my winter tire and based on your measurement it seems the 33x10.5R15 AT will have a tread width that most closely matches the MTs, with both measuring right at 8". Of corse the ATs will have to be mounted to a second set of rims as we are talking 15" verses 16".
