Any word on SPOT upgrades from v1 to v2?

Everyone around me is buying new SPOT IIs, while I wait patiently for news of the promised upgrade path for existing customers. News was supposed to come out in November, but the month came and went with nary a word. Nothing in the November newsletter.

Christmas approaches. Do I just have to bite the bullet and buy a new SPOT II like everyone else?

I emailed them a few weeks back and they said an incentive program to upgrade would come soon.

Yeah, they've been saying that for 6 months

They should have gotten this done months ago, and allowed existing owners to get first crack at the first batch of the new models. But I guess they are already getting our money...

The spot people do answer emails.

They've had good publicity lately. Perhaps sales have been high so may want to increase inventory before making the offer. Stalling new sales (and contracts) to give 1 users cheap units is understandably undesirable for them.
