I'm currently in the market for a new to me vehicle and have found one with an OME front suspension and Dakar leaf packs, but I am not sure how I feel about having a lifted vehicle for everyday driving around the Boston area. I know that might not go over well here, but I thought I would ask so folks could straighten me out. :)

Sorry I'm not local or you could come drive mine. I will say that the OME suspension will be much nicer than stock for daily driving. Definitely was for me.

At times I am in Boston--but probably not in the next month or so.
2003 DC Tacoma
Tundra coils up front
Dakar leafs + D6XL additional leaf w/Timbren stops in rear
Bilstein shocks all around

Run with 265 75 R16. (use slightly undersized studded snows in winter)

Have no problems with this setup (about 2" lift over stock).

When in the city, I find the lift advantageous in terms of visibility driving in traffic. Only real downside is slightly reduced gas mileage from combination of increased profile and slight tire upsize.

Not sure what your specific concerns are, but I have been using 4Runners and Tacomas with ~2" of lift as daily driver since the 90's with no regrets.

The only other issue to watch out for is height clearance in parking garages. My Tacoma runs just over 6'3" with the Thule rack installed. There are a few garages where this is an issue.
