Anybody Know How the Outback Solutions Drawers Mount in an LC FJ80?

Okay, I've seen the pictures, and I've thumbed through the forum.

Does anyone know how the Outback Solutions Mount to an FJ80? I've thought about them and they look really nice. I like the sliding top and the fact that the metal frame saves in weight. I don't have the knowledge of making my own (or at least the knowledge of making them look nice).

I've heard that they mount to the 3rd row mounts, but wasn't sure. I need a verification for this.

Also, how quickly can I take them out when not in use. I'm a commercial photographer and thus carry a ton of gear and assistants from location to location, so sometimes having the drawers may pose a problem with gear for this.

Thanks, any info would be great.

They do mount to your existing 3rd row seat holes.

That's so great to hear! Thanks!

How quickly can they come out of te truck? I have a situation where I may need the extra cargo space and wanted to know how quickly they can come out if the need arises.

Kevin I have them in my 100 series if you want to take a look at them.

That would be great to see photos, but I wouldn't want you to go out of your way.

What size do you have? They make 'em in 3 sizes.

I have the 41". They take up the entire cargo third row area in the 100.

It would take an hour to remove them.

Rob is spot on, I would guess an hour or so in and out once you have them set up initially (which is more like 4-6 hours)

Do you guys think there is any chance of fashioning a "quick release" of sorts? I mean it is what it is if that's the case! :)

With the 41" drawers, are you guys able to recline the 2nd row a bit, so it's not angled straight up?

Thanks for your help guys, these drawers are an investment and if need to do a bit of research first!

If you don't use a trim kit you could knock the de install time in half. You have 8 bolts, 4 floor and 4 connecting each half. You'll have 8 hex head machine screws on each top to remove them and access the 8 main bolts. If you have the slide top that could stay in place and you only have one side top panel to remove.

I don't recall if the drawers need to come out of the frame to get to all bolts. If so you have to remove stoppers.

There is 2-3 inches of clearance in the 100 between mid seats and drawers... You can recline them slightly.

This is great information! Thanks!

If you left the wings off and used ratchet straps or turnbuckles to fasten the drawers, you might be able to remove both drawers quickly. However, you would probably need to empty the drawers. Too heavy otherwise.
