Anyone ever use HF extender to tow M416 or other light trailer?

Debating if this would work or not.

I've got the M416 with the lunette and I need a little more tongue length for hauling kayaks. Wondering if anyone else has tried using the Harbor Freight hitch extender between the vehicle and the pintle. I have one already as it is required for my bike rack to clear the spare tire, so I tried it in the driveway and seems to work ok. It is rated for 5000lbs, so should be strong enough, just wonder if anyone sees a problem with that idea or if you've tried it before?

If it works, it would be a nice way to temporarily extend the tongue as you could easily disconnect if you don't need the extra length.

Should work fine. Just more to rattle.

Thanks Mark. That's what I figured. That lunette is going to bang around alot anyway, so what's a little more noise...
I've seen people cut off the lunette and weld those extenders on, so figured it would work, just with more give. I'll try it once the build is complete and see how it works.

I used one for a while and finally had the lunette extended and the tongue extended as well.
