Anyone have a leaking top

I have a 2013 jeep wrangler (2 door), it came with a soft top and I bought a hard top for it. The hard top is from a 2012 jeep, there is no damage to it and it fits good. The issue is I have a leak around the doors, when it rains I get water on my front floor boards in the carpet. The driver's side is worse than the passenger side but both sides leak. I don't know where it is coming in at. Anyone out there have this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks

Who doesn't have a jeep that leaks is a better question. It's a pretty prevalent issue with a ton of suggestions to fix but some just keep leaking. Good luck.

Glad mine doesn't. Check the freedom panels and see if installed correctly.

I've never had any leaks on my hardtop or doors at all. With the front freedom tops, its important not to overtighten the two rear hand-screws that go through the roll bar. Cranking them down can cause the tops to warp and distort. Barely snug is plenty.

My 2008 leaked but my 2014 doesn't at all.
I cured the leak in the old one by liberal doses of Vaseline on the gaskets and careful placement when buttoning it up.

My soft top is more watertight than my hard top. Mine leaks around the doors and I've just grown to accept it. I removed my carpets and it isn't as much of an issue anymore.

Welcome to the club o leaks.. This is one of the most common issues in regards to the Jeep wrangler.. and depending on the year.. things can get worse or better. if you're running the hard top.. can't help you there, we've never had a hard top.. but all indications lead me to believe it's the way the two panels fit together when installing.. sort of like if you remove them on a sunny day then reinstall for the rainy season.. the leak has been increased..
After about 2 years of dealing with leaks.. our first option was to remove the hard doors. One reason is because the rubber seals on these doors do not meet correctly with the roof line.. Hence the roof line is where the issue starts. The roof line right over the doors really don't have a extended edge for any water to run off and away from the door seals.. this is where you get the flow back into the jeep.
Now that we've been running without the hard doors but still have soft doors just incase of rain.. I've created a drip edge, which extends out beyond the doors.. and over winter no leaks and puddles have been noticed in the floorboards. I can't say this will work for your jeep, because your surrounds might be designed differently than ours.. But anything is worth a try..

Mine hasn't leaked at all. I'd recommend getting a lube that is designed to make gaskets swell. Molykote Dow Corning 55 works well.

It's not the top that leaks, it's the doors that allow the water runoff from the top coming in. Mine leaks some times with the carpet in, but never with the carpet o:snorkel:ut
