Anyone have experience with RAM-B-316-1-AP8U for iPad?

I have an iPad 2 and am looking for a way to mount it in the truck from time to time while off road (I have an in-dash GPS for "street" use). Does anyone have experience with that particular mount? It's made to hold the device without a case or skin so I'm wondering if it might mar the iPad itself and also if it holds the unit pretty steady.

I work for RAM Mount, the RAM-POD I works good. If you want the RAM-POD I for and iPad with a case the RAM-B-316-1-TAB3 will do the trick.

I use the RAM locking iPad holder with their surface mount.

Works great even with my Invisible Shield iPad skin.

Looks very cool, but what would keep a thief from just unscrewing / unbolting the base plate? Do they make that without the locks?

You can also get it with/without a locking screw knob & yes, they make a non-locking iPad holder.

As for removing the base plate, yes thats always a possibility but then again if you're afraid they could go to that level, then maybe one shouldn't leave the iPad behind.
