Anyone running a FrontRunner Rack?

I've got one, it's perfect. I mounted a Hannibal awning and a hi-lift jack, 4 lights up front and one at the back. It's light ,strong and it looks good for a fair price! I added two more supports for extra strenght......

I recently used one to replace the horribly heavy rack I had on the 110. I can echo Scott in saying that the weight is extremely low for the strength which I think is its greatest advantage. I have yet to mount my RTT to it, so I would have to comment on that later.

Love mine. Lots of accessories to attach if needed. Like how light it is and how low it sits.

How are you mounting your TechniTop tent to the rack? I have the AO rack on my 4Runner, but will be getting the Frontrrunner rack for my 80 and will be mounting my tent to it.

I'm running a FR Windcheeta on my LC100. Was a bit of a pita to mount/install but I'm used to Yakima program; took two guys 3 solid hours w/ no beer break...

Very solid, but, if you are >150# you'll need a 1/4 sheet of plywood up there to walk around on it/load. For rally support we routinely load spare tires/wheels, a wicked big Pelican case (for lighting pod), spare fuel, and two ez-up tents (~300# total w/ 40Lts of fuel) and no deflection issues. BTW we also two a 18 foot car trailer with a 2900# rally car on it too.

Was a tad concerned about no customary 6" rack rail but after loading the rack a few dozen times in the past year, I can see why they are a bit passe in rack designs these days.

Only functional problem is lack of a good OEM FR fairing. W/o out one the rack howls like a wolf >50MPH. FR provide an odd bent metal thing wich block the sunroof.... So I had to jerry-rig (or rather, being SA, Yoppi-rig) a Thule 44" fairing. A few well placed zip ties fasten it well and add some curvature for good deflection. Its been wind tested to 90MPH and it doesn't move. I can email photos to anyone who is interested. Don't have photo host so to post right now...

I also got the side mount ladder (special long lead order from EQUIPT) which hangs on the top rail and rests against the tires, it really helps when loading & lashing gear

My first choice was an African Outback but Slee stopped carrying them.
If I had to buy another I'd also look at Hannibal, which was also not available last summer.

Awesome, we have the same awning. Does the awning arms twist the side rails on Front Runner at all?

Any photos of this? Where does it store when not in use?

Thanks all for the fast response.
