Thinking about something like this...

Truck Tent

My wife and I got to talking and she brought up a good point. My 5yo probably wouldnt enjoy sleeping by himself in a seperate tent cot.

Anyone use anything like this?

Thanks for that BK.

I checked out that website and it doesnt look as if they sell that model anymore. Im hip to having the roof of the tent be no see-um mesh. Found this on Ebay...

Tent

Have you had a chance to use it anymore than the write-up you provided in your thread? The more I think about it the more it makes sense.

Thanks for the reply.

If you go to Enel's website, I think they still sell it there. This was my first use of the tent, but I definitely liked it.

perfect - then I can say with certainty that it is well made and engineered. As mentioned in my other thread, my biggest concern is finding a way to cover the stuff in the bed while driving. Mine may not have been the most elegant solution, but it was less than $30...

My buddy has a truck tent that has a full on awning off the back and all. Works bitchen. He has tons of room too for sleeping. Takes a bit longer to setup than our RTT, but about the same as a ground tent. It's nice cause you can move your basecamp a few feet if need be real easy. However, if you want to head out for the day you have to break down the tent. For the price, i really like them.

Thats one of the nice things about going this route for me. It has made it easier to convince the wife I need to build an off-road trailer.

Well, here it is. Seems well built. Fits very nicely although I think the Colorado bed is a little bigger than CampRite figured as its a tight fit. It would also much easier to set-up with 2 people. I did it myself just to see how difficult it would be.

No floor. That and the mesh roof were the two main things I wanted.

I plan on using an air mattress. To do that Ill need to build up a platform so I can get as much sleeping space as possible. So thatll be over the wheel wheels. I can leave the platform on and have storage underneath. Everything else will go in my soon to be finished trailer.
