Anyone used the Weathertech window deflectors for Gen2 Monteros?

Thinking about getting a set. Never tried em? How well do they work? Easy to install? Do they actually touch the glass?

I don't know if I have the same brand, but I have something similar on my 2.5. I really like them. Passenger front recently started to come off, so I pulled it down and just bought some sticky foam tape off amazon to put it back on the window. First challenge is going to be removing all of the old sticky foam tape :-(

So is that how they stay up? They are glued or taped up inside the window seals? Do you get any leakage around the wind deflectors?

They tape up around the door frame and don't share any space with the window, and don't hinder the window from rolling up. I'll snap a picture or two tomorrow.

Real "Weather Tech " window deflectors install inside the window channel, they do not have tape on them. I have some on my 99 LR disco 1 and they work great and plan on getting a set for my GEN 2.

Yeah, the instructions that came with the set seem to show the deflectors sliding up inside the window's channel, all the way up to the top of the window frame, and staying there. The instructions, though, are actually only small almost-hand drawn diagrams that have no detail to speak of, so they aren't very helpful. I can't confirm for sure.

So no one here has a set installed on their Montero, though, huh? I will probably just call WeatherTech and see what they say.

Also, YouTube has some videos but I couldn't find one for the Montero - you can see a guy installing one version of the WeatherTech deflectors up inside the window channel, but there are many different versions of these deflectors, so it's hard to say what applies to our trucks.

Here in Taiwan those wind deflectors are vey popular. They were on my Pajero when I bought it.
Hated them from day one, always kept hitting my head when trying to look out of the window,
the praised rain and air deflection in my opinion just minuscule to none and also reduced visibility.
Long story short, just ripped them off and haven't missed them since them.

This just my experience & they were not Weathertech brand.

A friend of mine had similar looking ones, they were a copy he got from ebay, they didn't really do much to deflect rain when driving, but they made a strange noise inside if the window was down a small bit(3-5 inches),it went away when it was open any more than that, sounded like plastic getting dragged along the ground.

All those faults could have been caused by them being copies of the genuine article though

I have the gigantic factory ones on mine and find them great,I can drive with the window open in the rain and stay dry, only problem is it is a bit hard to climb out of the window. . . but that is what doors are for :sombrero:

For me, a benefit will be being able to crack the windows slightly when there is cold rain or snow alling, so that I can run the heat inside to clear the windows without burning up... I like that fresh cool air :D

Definitely would love to hear from anyone who has the WeatherTech's on their Montero.
