OK, I have to ask, what do you have that has a welded gear instead of bolted?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have a 2014 VW Amarok 4x4. Yes it is unfotunately welded not bolted.

The rear in new Rangers is welded too ?

Saves a little bit of weight to help mpg or some BS excuse like that.

They can come with a factory elocker but it kinda puts a glitch into regearing them...

Thanks Buli. Rear is my only option as the front crown is welded not bolted to center. Other than an new oem rear e locker, ARB is my only option.

If an OEM e-locker is an option for you then that is the BEST option. Doubtful it's more expensive than an ARB+all of the associated compressor, hardware, plumbing, chasing leaks, dealing with frozen air lines, etc, etc...

New Ranger is suppose to have the same Dana axle as the JL Rubicon, last I knew those had bolted on gears. Or maybe just the front? Don't know about the front.
