ARB Bumper...fog or no fog?

Due to accident, i can now get an ARB bumper for my 2009 taco. I am going with ARB because i am a dealer...so i get a good price on them. My question is...should i go with the fog version or non fog version and run LED lights?

Anyone find a round LED light that would fit into the fog version ARB bumper?

Anyone mount a LED light bar or Duallys to the light tabs of an ARB?

its about $120 savings going non fog that i can put towards LEDs...or just get the fog version and be done...

I had them on mine on my Tacoma and they worked really well. Some people in here have mounted LED light bars on the top bar and on the bumper. I say get them. I'll buy a bar from you for my FJ if you hook me up.

Personally I like the look better with fogs, breaks up the look. But that is just an aesthetic opinion.

I bought my ARB before the fog lights were an option. When they came out I liked the way they looked with them better so I cut my bumper and installed them. They actually work pretty well and I'd definitely go that way if I had to do it over again. LEDs would be nice for the power savings, but the housing assembly and brackets are plastic and I'm not sure how well they would stand up to the heat generated by some of the LED out there.

It does look nicer, and more light is always better, even more so if you can have them on for regular driving (not necessarily off road driving). I have seen a bunch of people fit duallys in there, that would be the best bet, not very good for fog or dust but maybe the yellow covers will help???

I'd vote to get the fog version just because it's a lot easier to have it and not need it vs not having it and trying to add it later. The fog lights on the ARB are pretty nice, and adjustable. Definitely cut off the garbage connector they provide on the end of the lights; it's not even remotely weatherproof.

Here's a guy that fit two different LED lights into the ARB fog light housings: http://www.ramforum.com/f96/led_daytime_running_lights_-_interest-26444/

get the fog option, i wish they had this for the first gen taco. i have a 97 4runner with an ARB and i want to put some of the fogs in it, i too am thinking about cutting it as stated and installing some of the inserts and fogs if i can find a set that will work.

PIAA makes a 4" round LED, take a look at them

I'm using the PIAAs 4" LEDs on my ARB.
You just have to work with them to get the right fit.

Just a little trimming to make the bezels work with the lights.

Get the fog and do the LED conversion. I dont have an ARB anymore but on my custom bumper I have fog light inserts that are somewhat similar to what the ARB have and was running the same exact IPF fog lights as the ARB bumpers use. I recently swapped them out for Rigid Dually's and Im extremely pleased with the difference. Took some modding to get them to fit but now they fit perfectly. I've seen a few rigs with the setup posted by soonenough, they look and perform great.

I have the fog version, and the lights are wired to the factory fog light switch in my '11. I leave them on all the time so they act as daytime running lights. If it weren't for that, I don't know if I'd ever use them.

If you actually live in an area that sees any fog, delinately spring for the fog version. When it comes to true fog, the position of the lamp is actually far more important than the color or candlepower.

Unless of course you want to follow my example and mount the fog lights below the bumper (great for fog, but attracts attention of jeepers who feel the need to tell you they would get broken if you ever tried to get on THEIR trails).

Look carefully, they are peeking out from under the bumper.
