ARB Compressor dies

No it's not common for o-rings to fail in Air Lockers. It's very common to screw one up during install, not set the carrier bearing preload correctly allowing the diff to move around under load, damage the adjuster nuts or route the copper internal lines incorrectly resulting in a failed install that requires repair, but not for the O-rings to "fail." They are simply O-rings, and good ones at that and if everything is working correctly they will last a very long time (just like they do in hydraulic equipment) if kept properly lubricated. Geez, not trying to start a big ARB is the best thread here, but come on, blanket statements such as this are ridiculous and frankly a cop out. Just like any other part of your truck, if there is a problem, spend the time to properly diagnose it, don't just assume and throw parts/money at something when it may have nothing to do with the problem. As a dealer tech for many years, i've seen that mentality to many times before and it drives me nuts. just my 2 cents...

BTW, this is an old thread. Doublemoo, did you ever find the leak?

I have seen oil pushed up the air line by 'O' rings not installed correctly. Also when the solenoid switches off it effectively caps the air line so oil should not be able to work it's way up........but it does...oh and hi, been lurking awhile but not posted before.

I Leak Oil

I installed ARB's front and rear 7 years ago and have not had any issues with failed O rings, either air or oil wise. Both units have functioned properly without issue. Does it happen? I'm sure it does, but most likely from poor installation. It's really more of an internet issue than a real world ARB product issue in my opinion.
