ARB Simpson III question

There are two straps mounted low on the centre hoop inside the tent. Near the plate where all the poles connect. They are long enough to extend across the width of the tent and have a sewn loop in the end.

Hope that is an adequate enough description. I could get some pics later if not.

Anyway I cannot for the life of me figure out what the purpose of these things is. Nothing mentioned in the insructions. Does anyone here happen to know.

If not I guess I'll contact ARB next. TIA.

Kurt (Cruiseroutfitters) told me they were to hold onto and help pull yourself up in the tent.

I owned mine a long time before I figured it out.

Correct, they are 'entry straps', they extend the perfect length to end up near the door. They are very useful for some, particularly on really tall applictions or terrain that puts your ladder at a steeper angle. I don't find them too useful in my low height mount but leave them there just the same.

You can cut them off or just take the retainer screw out of that particular bow, slip the bow off the joint and slide the strap off. That way you have it if you ever decide you need it.

Good idea. I haven't really gone out and looked at it that close yet. I probably wouldn't have actually cut it off.

I don't use mine either but they really aren't in the way. I just push them off to the side and ignore them.

Ya mine fall out between the mattress and floor when I'm closing the tent sometimes. Sometimes the get stuck between the panels.
