ARB Simpson III Tent

I wanted to give the Guys at ARB customer service, a thumbs up on the support I received with my Simpson III Tent. I logged a lot of nights in 0 to -20 degrees this winter and my tent developed a couple of stress cracks from the expansion and contraction of the FRP base panels around the rivet joints at the corners. The ARB guys were fantastic in sending me a replacement within a week. I love this tent and I will be an ARB fan for a long time.

Thanks ARB Guys

 Glad to hear your liking the tent. In addition to the floor there were a few other upgrades made to the new Simpson IIIB that up the usability that much more.

Upgrades???

I have not unpacked and mounted the new tent yet, it is sitting in my office.
What is New?? I was aware they corrected the rivets holes to allow for expansion but what else? I still have the same one mounted at this point.
This tent has been to Colorado (COjeeper Home base) Utah, Montana and the frozen tundra, but mainly is my weekend trout fishing rig while I am consulting in Wisconsin for a couple of years. I do some extreme winter camping and really put this this tent to the test. It has proformed flawlessly for me and I have been extremlely happy with it. Minor exception being the cracks which I should be able to repair. What are the improvements on the IIIB? I am even more excited to open up the box and get it mounted on the rig. Plus I have a spare!
Six things I cannot live without are this tent, My Kelly Kettle, My sidekick adventure dog, My Anorak (Empire Canvas Rocks! in Duluth), The Rig, and my Zodi Hot vent. Pack a few MRE's in the Yeti and I am good!

I also had a tent that cracked in the corners. In fact the bottom ended up cracking all over but ARB was right on top of things.

I put mine on the jeep, opened it up and checked things out. Other than the new and improved floor, the new and improved cover and the aluminum poles that are reinforced I can't tell much of a difference.I'm curious if anyone else knows what else they changed. I do know I'm dying to get out and do some camping now.

...I'm curious if anyone else knows what else they changed...

But of course ;)

Upgrades zippers, fiberglass reinforced veranda poles, upgraded cover with 'dual' cinch straps and looped cover. I've spend a couple of weeks worth of nights in my SIIIB, so far so good. We got POUNDED by 50-60 mph wind gusts last weekend at the Maze Overlook (windiest place in Utah I contest). Zero issues with the veranda bows

IIRC, the mattress had been changed to foam chip, and the fly sheet was changed from 180D Nylon to 300D Oxford polyester.
