Are all Memory Cards equal ?

Card readers are that cheap? Huh...I might have to try one. As for the 100 pics per folder deal....if I go and take 280 some odd pics, then read the card, it will have 3 folders ("canon 100", "canon 200", "canon300"). The first 100 pics are stored in "canon 100", etc. I have read a number of complaints about this on camera forums in the past. Maybe there is some way to change this?

Do you have Firewire on your laptop? If you do, a reader like this might work out.

If you do have a PC laptop, the Delkin CardBus Adapter would be the fastest method, which will be faster than any peripheral device.

Unfortunately, there isn't. I know the 30D uses the much more intelligent one-folder system, which was one of the things Canon changed for it.

Here is $7 cheap reader
Here is $4 PCMICA reader

google the net, you'll find readers for all kinds of prices. I picked my no-brand reader up at Fry's for $7 and it works just fine.
