I picked up a Winplus jumper pack from Costco. It was an impulse buy, because it was on my mind, in front of my hands, and only 60-ish dollars. I had gone in to get Turbo Tax... roflol
This unit has a lot less AH rating than the XP, and it has done well.
Since getting this pack, I've read up a lot on the technology, and would definitely have spent the extra cash to get the XP.
That said, it has started all three gas engine vehicles (one of which took a bit of cranking), and I am impressed with the technology. On one of the jumps, the pack was only about 75% charged, and it kicked the engine off just fine. It won't replace the jumper cables, because eventually someone with a cold diesel engine will need a serious jump, and i *think* the jump pack may not be enough.
My buddy was able to start a pretty dead F350 diesel with his XP, but it took a bit to get it cranking over. He did have it started before I was able to dig down and drag out the jumper cables though.
The caveat with the jump pack (in my mind) is, that it would be a very good idea to make sure it is fully charged before shutting down the vehicle for a few days. If just tossed in and forgot about until needed, it may not have the energy stored.
Then two becomes the new none... lol
