Yeah Don that's nuts, Walnut Creek has done that for me several times. Crying shame you actually tried to bring them business...

Don't ask me...I've bought parts by phone plenty of times but my results with Nielo Sacramento have been mixed over the last few years.

Livermore was helpful except they didn't call me when the parts came in that morning as they said they would. I waited until noon and called them but got voice mail. I finally called again around 1:30 and they said 'oh yeah, the parts are here', but by that time it meant I got caught in all the Altamont Pass traffic and it took me 3 hours to fetch the parts. Which in turn meant I wasn't able to get the truck in for an alignment on Friday as I'd planned, which meant I had to wait until late in the day on Saturday for an alignment, which meant I didn't learn about the damaged steering rack until too late to pick up a replacement, which meant I'll have to drive the truck with the funky steering and alignment on Friday when my brother is in town.

(I can't work on the truck during the week as I don't go home when working in the bay during the week)

All for lack of a phone call....I'm sure it was no big deal to them but it kinda screwed me.

Sorry to hear that Don. Working at a dealer I can say that on occasion even I'm not told by my parts department that parts are in so our shop foreman started getting involved and personally checks and let's every tech know what they had come in. It's a staffing issue. Also the first I've heard of a dealer not taking someone's money. :D
