Arizona Mt Wrightson and Mt Ord

A couple of photos from a hike I did up to Mt Wrightson just south of Tucson, Arizona on 11.30.24 and a mountain bike ride on 12.6.24 up FS Rd 626 to the lookout / electronic site on Mt. Ord just outside of Phoenix. No real excitement on either trail outside of my pack leaking all the water out on to the floor of my truck as I drove to Mt. Ord trailhead. These were just a good chance to get away for a bit.

One thing that was nice is that this ride got me out of the somewhat poor air quality in the valley (brownish on the right).




The ride up Mt Ord took about 1.5 hours the ride down took a fraction of time and somewhat sketchy since I was wearing my winter gloves due to my other gloves being soaked from my pack leaking. Still an enjoyable time.

Was planning to hike Mt Peeley after riding Mt Ord but given my lack of water I opted not to - another time.

Thanks for the pics! Beautiful scenery for sure. I've been up Mt. Ord in my Bronco but haven't hiked Mt. Wrightson yet. I had not heard of the Boy Scout tragedy detailed on those signs.
