Anyone use Military surplus army tents? Couple years ago I bought one off e-bay from some surplus site, paid 350$$. Its about 16'x16' with 4' or5' side walls. It has a large pole in the center holding up the roof. Looks kinda like a small circus tent. It came with all hardware and is amazingly waterproof. we cut a hole in one corner and built a 30 gal barrel stove.
I love using this thing.Ya its big and heavy, takes 2 peaple to set up. But I can park my 4wheeler inside with 3 peaples cots and equipment plus stove and firewood. It was so nice during a north idaho hunting season last fall. Stoke up fire, hunt a while, come back=nice and toasty inside.Temp was anywhere from 6above to about 35above with snow on the ground.
Memorial weekend we set up again. was kinda hot, it made a good hangout around camp. you can roll the walls up and tie them off, makes a good canopy.
Just sayin for a 350$ tent you cant beat it. Im gad I didnt pay 1000$ plus for a new wall tent.
