Some of my shots are well thought out, others just happen and look liked I planed it...LOL Dont tell anyone!
For this shot, we camped out in the parking lot so we could be down on the waters edge at 4am. I dont think you're supposed to do that, but we're self contained, so it just looked like a truck sitting in the lot all night
Canon 5D, ISO 50, 15 second exposure at f/8
How else could you get a 15 second exposure to turn out this bright than be there an hour or two before the sun even comes up
This is what I mean about planning it and just having it fall in your lap
We were camped in Monument Valley, right on the rim and had just come back from photographing the sunrise. I watched this Earthroamer pull up and start to pull down into the valley. It parked at the first turnoff and sat for a minute. Long enough for me to scramble the gear out of the bags and snag this shot.
Normall you have to pay to get a model like that...LOL

We were hiking in Arizona at the Tonto Natural Bridge and my nephew was having a ball rock hopping this little stream. I was following him along and just anticipated when he was going to jump the next time snagging this shot
Canon 1D, ISO 200, 1/400th @ f/2.8 - Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8 lens
This shot was planned from the time I first saw Ansel Adams version. I knew when visiting Canyon de Chelly, we had to hire the guide service so we could take the truck down into the canyon floor so I could try and copy this shot of one of my idols. It's the White House Ruins by the way
