AT FJ55 Project Vehicle

snip..........

We could hold Portal Parties at the shop, where all of you guys turn wrenches while we direct operations while holding clip boards. Sounds fair to me. ;)
I'd volunteer to hold up the shovel, but these new shovels.........

Perhaps the inaugural Overland trip should be a quest for wind & waves...and that of course means fish. Hmmm, isn't there a quaint little peninsula a couple of hundred miles south of here? :sunny:

I'll bring the surfboards. . .:sunny: :sunny:

Have you seen me turn a wrench??? It ain't pretty, the last time somone trusted me with a tool I broke a window :yikes: I've been trying to find somone to teach me to weld...

Ooh, now there's an idea. Regional wrenching - methods - techniques gatherings. Not just to work on someone's vehicle, but to share the hands-on stuff.

We still want to do a diesel swap, our thought initially are to convert with an International 2.5 turbo. It will take some time to locate the engine and all the associated parts.

The 3F EFI engine will be an interim measure to get the vehicle going, the diesel conversion our long term plan. All we need now is the time to do all the work.

My FJ55 has a 3B turbo-diesel. My wife and I drove it from Canada to Guatemala this past spring!

Man, I do love the Pigs. What a combo, a nice looking FJ55 with a 3FE and H55F! I probably wouldn't even do a diesel swap since I bet it will be a whole ton of fun to drive just like that.

wow, what a sweet bequeath. The 55 is my favorite style of LC ... just so, "classic." Sadly, I've never even sat in one, but sure do love them from the outside.

Can't wait to watch this pig grow.

Now that sounds like fun!

I have wanted to put a 7M-GE in one of those for a couple years. Figured that would make it much more livable on today's US highways and still keep it all Toyota.

Although that engine worked great in the Supra and Cressida and has been a popular swap with the mini truck crowd, I don't think it has enough umph to push a 55 down the road. They didn't nickname it the Pig for nothing, it's a heavy rig!

When we roll her out for ExPo Trophy 2008, we'll let you do just that.
