Ick ick ick; stop it!

When you make camp after a day of pounding the trail, open the trailer up, find the Thetford has beaten itself apart and made a gooey mess of the entire interior, the first words out of your mouth are ...

... ... (drum roll, please) ... ...

... Wait for it ...

... here it comes ...

...

Aaack! Cess!

Just a thought. Probably never happen, but in product marketing you've got to explore all the possibilities.

I remind you of GM's marketing mistake of selling their coupe in Mexico under the name "Nova," which of course in Spanish means "does not go." (Although that parable was ultimately shown untrue by UrbanLegends.com, the point is still valid).

This name game is excellent product research and a great idea. Fun, too.

(----Sorry, I just saw now that the discussion of names came up under a different thread last week. This thread is the for choosing among the names previously discussed/submitted. This smarmy comment really belongs under that other thread, rather than here. ---)

Looks like 1977-1984 actually.

1985 was the last year with the FL350 the best Odessey ever, 350cc with reverse.

IMHO the best names that were posted, were omited from the poll. I didn't vote for any of the above. As I don't feel any of them fit.

Your votes place the names as follows:
#1 OASIS
#2 ACCESS
#3 ODYSSEY
#4 PIVOT

Congratulations JeepinBear (we'll be in touch).

Thank you to everyone who voted.

As some of you pointed out other trailer companies are using the Oasis and Access names.

In the case of Oasis by Coachman, their trailer is the Shasta Oasis, the trailer is the Shasta and it seems that they named a specific configuration of the Shasta the Oasis. Coachman has the trademark for Shasta but hold no rights on Oasis.

There was also a trailer made in the 60's called the Oasis. It is no longer in production and there is no trademark on the name.

WelFab's Oasis refers to the containers used on their trailers not the trailer itself.

Access Trailers is a UK company, they have a TM, trademark applied for, next to their name, but nothing shows up for the US. So it may just be a UK registration.

We believe both names were valid for the competition.

As of today AT has applied for the Trademark on OASIS for the Trailer Class of vehicles.

Martyn,

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in the naming of the trailer. It was a lot of fun and really shows your dedication to this community. I'm honored that my entry won and think any of them would have been great names.:victory:

Thank you also for the detailed explanation of the validity of the entries!
