If this only had a top part to make a false floor for a 8 I would be all over it.

There are plans in the works to make side and back sections that would fill in the areas making a "false' floor.

Trying to come to market with a custom product for a range of vehicles can be time consuming and difficult.

Our approach is to produce the drawer units and then "in fill" around them with custom sections that are vehicle specific.

Once we know, from sales of the drawer units, what vehicles they are being fitted to we can get very specific with the custom units.

Is there a provision to keep the drawer open on an incline? If this has already been answered I apologize.

We are looking into different slide options. Some of them have a lock out option built in, but they may not be in the right weight range or length.

If that doesn't work out we are looking at a mechanical way to hold the drawer in place.

are there any LJ owners wanting a custom box made to fit behind the rear seat in the cargo area. I've talked with a Martyn about it and he needs 5 orders to make em and I have to get him some measurements for him to build em and see what the pricing is going to be. any other LJ owners interested in it?

I am very interested in these drawers for my LJ if Martyn will do a custom configuration. If he could emulate the Tuffy drawer with included side panels but split it into two drawers instead of one it would be the perfect LJ storage system.

Just so I'm clear, you are willing to do completely custom one-off for only 30% more? That is the deal of a lifetime.

I'm more than happy to do quotes for custom rectangular boxes and give you both the 5 order minimum price and the custom one off price. Just e mail me, PM me, or post L x W x H.

My original estimate of around 30% was done using some quick mental arithmetic. When I plug the numbers into our spreadsheet I can get hard numbers.

For example the Land Rover D-90 custom drawer is $788.00, but the 5 order minimum price would be $565.00, which is 37%. We should be able to get the price into the lower 30's on orders for two, three, or four drawers. The cost is in the set up to cut the panels, if we can spread the cost over multiple units the overall price decreases.

on the KD ones, are they pre-drilled and do they include the hardware to assemble as well?

All of the drawer systems are KD. Makes it much easier to ship.

Everything is pre-drilled and the hardware is supplied. See http://www.adventuretrailers.com/homebuilder.html for pictures.

The "Home Built" drawers are made from Baltic Birch and we have not applied a finished coating to them. The home builder would be assembling the drawers and finishing them with something like a polyurethane varnish, paint, or a Linex type finish.

The composite drawers are only offered with a finish coat. The reason for this is that Ketones in some finish coatings will react with the composite panels. When we coat them in house we know what the chemical make up of the specific coating is.

Drawer Slides

Martyn,

I didn't notice drawer slides on the "assemble yourself" drawers. Are those included, too?

The pictures were taken after the drawers were assembled, but before they were coated, so the slide had not been installed yet.

Yes the slides are included. It is a complete kit.
