Aussie Ford Ranger

Just found this great forum and thought that I would share a few pic of my 2008 PJ Ford Ranger.
This is a Thailand built model and imported into Australia by Ford Australia.
The ute is fitted with the 3.0L CRD, and standard with 115Kw & 380 Nm.
The ute has just clocked over 100.000klm and has seen a fair bit of Australia.

Welcome, Millsy! Many of us would love to have a truck like yours. Ford, in its wisdom, doesn't sell a midsize diesel pickup or ute in USA. Maybe someday!

What sort of fuel consumption figure does your 3.0L diesel produce when you travel, loaded with camping gear?

Thanks Mate.
The ute averages around 11L/100klm and when towing the camper around 15L/100klms, not sure what that would work out to in MPG.

Last trip away was 4 weeks and travelled just over 12000klm.
Went from Perth in Western Australia to Melbourne in Victoria 3500 Kim in 2 1/2 days then put the ute and camper on the Spirit of Tasmania and drove around Tassie for 3 weeks before heading home again.

That should be about 21.4 mpg and 15.7mpg towing. Not bad. Nice little truck, great work on the back storage.

such a great rig. I would probably own one if it was available up here in Canada. Heck, even if had the gas engine but a normal seating for 5 would be good enough for me. There was a time, 2 years ago I think, that the 4x4 model here brand new was less than $20K. It would have been perfect for my purposes, but not meant to be, I guess.
awesome, mate, would love to see some more pics.
Cheers

Yes...great truck...what is the payload...here in the states we get a measly 1200lbs with a midsize truck

Thanks Flagster
The Ranger can carry around a tonne payload and fuel usage is around 20-25 mpg.
Diesel cost around $1.30/L or $6.50/gallon. With the long range fuel tank fuel up normally cost around $140.00 to fill.

In our country, most of pick up trucks owners choose toyota hilux than ford ranger. I've heard in the internet and i

watched youtube the comparison about ford and toyota.. Most review in favor of ford because it has a higher

performance than toyota.
I have also checked this site http://www.infotechywiz.com/2012/04/ford-ranger-2012.html it seemed that it has a good

review of ford ranger 2012. But this truck is not available in US. Am i correct?

You're correct. The Ranger was discontinued in 2011. Even when we had it though, we didn't get the diesel or payload you have in yours. Or the awesome quad cab.
