Havnt been on Portal for a while, so figured id get back into the swing of things by sharing some photos of our trip from the south to the north of Australia and back.
2 Nissan Patrols for a little over 4 weeks long. We traveled 8500km (5282miles) from the south of Oz to the north was fantastic!
We tried to stay off the black top as much as possible and included another crossing of the simpson desert in our trip.
Had a few hickups along the way..
Broken front spring
Failed swivel hub seal
Failed wheel bearing
and a hundred new squeeks and rattles from thousands of km's of corrugated dirt roads..
For those that are familiar with the area here are some of the places we saw along the way..
Geelong, Port Augusta, Maree, Birdsville, Purni Bore, Mt Dare, Old Andado track to Alice Springs, Darwin, Alice, Old Ghan via Finke, Oodnadatta, Coober Pedy, Peterbough then home.
For nearly 2 weeks we were doing a max of 20km/h. Very slow and ruff gonig!
Anyway heres some pics..
Mungerannie Hotel camping right next to the pub!
Simpson desert...
Dads GU got pretty bogged in the soft afternoon sand...
4.2ltr GU to the rescue..
