Australian Style Hard Floor Camper Trailers

Hello fellow ExPo folks,
I need your opinion on something here: I am thinking of Importing Australian Style Camper Trailers into Canada/US, I know there are few companies out there that try doing just that, but I was aiming more towards general public, people who don't want to spend 20K+ on a Expedition Trailer, don't spend 60K+ on an Expedition Rigs.
Aussie style Camper trailer anywhere from $9,000 - $14,000 (Depending on options/accessories)

I've been through RTT's on M101, luxury travel trailers but could never find anything that was comfortable enough to bring the wife, and yet capable enough to go explore. Hence why Im here showing this, trying to see if USA/Canadian market is ready for something like this, given that its priced 9-14K.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I am interested for all the reasons you seak of. We are family of three and don't have a ridiculous amount of cash to spend and need something light for my tacoma. I have spent the better part of the week looking for a US sales of these.

I believe several US members here have (or had) Kimberley Kampers, which are of this style. Worth a search on that name...

Searched on Kimberly kampers before, they're a bit pricy. I'm not a bells and whistles guy. We had a Combicamper in Iceland and that was perfect for us.

When we had our Cherokee, we used to tow our Kamparoo trailer (ours was imported from AU via Canada dealer). We used this for almost 3 years and it worked flawlessly.

Though I love our new setup (FWC on the Dodge), I would not hesitate to do a Kamparoo type setup again.

I would love to see more of the Australian style trailers in North America but given the strength of the Aussie dollar, I don't think you're going to meet your cost goal. Transportation of the trailers from AUS to a North American port would probably cost US$1500-2500/ea and then there's port to final destination cost. Then there is the cost/time associated with getting the trailers NHTSA approved for road use. That black trailer (Leisure Matters), 3rd pic in post #1, already retails for AU$14k.
