Auto starting for low batteries, is there such a thing?

Pretty much as the title states, is there such a thing as auto-start for the vehicle (diesel or gasoline) when some sort of a sensor detects it?

Ive considered it, but based upon engine oil/coolant temp.

Makes a big difference starting and running the engine a time or two during the night in severely cold weather.
Especially for a diesel.

In my mind, required features for this kind of system would be a low oil pressure shutdown and a way to disable the system easily to allow parking indoors.

Most Ive seen the feature must be manually turned on via the fob before you shut the vehicle down.

Once driven, the system resets to stock.

That said, I never park indoors. And my truck will simply shut down in a low oil pressure situation. \
Silly cross benefit of having a motor with HEUI injectors. :coffee:

I should have mentioned I knew about the car alarms with the autostart built into it but I'm not looking for a car alarm, I'm looking for a unit that I can wire and or plug in to start my vehicle when my batteries get too low.
If there's someone out there who has a unit like this I'd be willing to be a test case... (willing to pay )

Even with the most simple vehicle, the system will still need to know when to STOP applying power to the starter.

A simple switch to turn it on, or turn it on for a specific duration then off, is not enough.

It has to know when enough is enough.

One other, small observation. Some of us with a lot of heavy electric loads, e.g., microwave, induction stove, have very wide voltage swings. To be really useful, an auto start system would have to incorporate something like a five minute window. That is, don't start unless the voltage remains low for about five minutes. Otherwise, you may get a lot of unnecessary starts.
