I know that the Expedition Portal isn't exactly FJ Cruiser heavy, however for those of you who do own one or who may be interested in the purchase, I wanted to share what I consider to be one of the very best modifications I've made to my FJ Cruiser from an expedition perspective.
I gave up carrying plastic Molotov C0cktails strapped to the roof of the FJ.
And now I can carry other stuff on the roof if I need to.
The Toyota FJ Cruiser has short legs from an expedition perspective, particularly in the Western US, Alaska and Western Canada where you can drive a long time between fueling stops.
Mounting the additional tank means that I have 40 gallons of gasoline available for trips. The approach angle is not an issue.
