What kind of mileage does it get again? What length did you make the bed? What gears does it have in the diffs?

What size fuel tank? what kind of range?

Oh yeah and no pass through or pass through, i cant remember?

Sorry for all the questions dude..Thanks Scott..

Sorry for the delay on the interior pics.

As edited in the beginning of the thread we are VERY interested in building this Chinook for a customer.

We would love to take this basic truck and turn it into an even more functional, creature comforts, armored, turn key expo rig. Built to suit.

If that is something you are looking for and not looking for a "project" in any way this would be a great opportunity for probably one of the more rare and unique expedition vehicles out there!

We are actually setting up to do a 80 series Chinook for a customer. So if that gets your wheels turning for you own custom project let us know!!

This interior was built in less than two days before the 3 week trip I took. So it is not the Ritz by any means.

Mileage was around 16 and that was with a lot of gear for the events I attended and driving through some pretty large passes at 7-10k ft at times. So I figure on "flatter" trip it could do even better.

Not sure of the tank size, but it is stock. I'm guessing its mid to high teens.

The fuel sending unit went out so was always on empty, but the furthest I went between fill ups was around 220 miles.

Yes it is a pass through and on a few stormy night I had to use it. Its a little tight, but I am 6ft 200lbs and I made it through. Got a pretty bad Charlie Horse doing it one night though! Much easier for the passenger than the driver.

So now you are building it onto an 80 and not selling it? Im confused.

I'd like to put it on my 80... but unsure as to how much you're charging to do the swap and what projects has the shop done for camper conversions in the past?

Tried calling and all i hear is static on your phone line.

No our customer is buying a chinook 2wd out of reno and we are adapting it to an 80.

Independent of this mini truck Chinook.

Should be a sweet project! This will be our first conversion like this, they don't come up very often haha.

We had a few calls with nobody on the other end today. Tested the phone and everything is fine. Not sure what the problem is.

Best way to reach me is 530-401-2023.

Thanks,
Scott

I remember seeing these rigs new at the Auto Show here in San Diego. I couldn't fit in the front seat,so that was it for me. They looked awfully top heavy, but with the wider tires this one looks fine. There's a market out there for just such a rig nowadays.

Just saw this Scott. I am surprised no one snagged it yet. Such a cool little truck. Good luck with the sale. Here is my favorite action shot of it from our trip.

I had to repost this on another forum. I love these trucks, and one of these based on an 80 series would be "zombie proof".
