Okay, looking for a thread on here that I saw a few weeks ago, and for the life of me, I can't find the bugger.

It was a homebrew M416 style trailer I recall. RTT and all that jazz. Here's the important part, and the part that has got me looking all over hell and gone. The owner has welded on two height-adjustable/retractable legs in both rear corners to support/make even the rear of the trailer.

Does anyone know where it's hidden? It *should* be in this forum. Or does anyone know where I can get the parts?

Otherwise, I have a set of extendable "legs" on an M416 trailer I recently sold...but they looked home-made.

Thank you, but those weren't them. A more detailed description would be that they were welded to the bottom of the trailer. They had extendable legs, and would retract with the leg facing "forward", towards the axle. Very clean looking setup.

Many you guys are good at finding really great ideas, but those weren't them either.

These were welded to the frame and the part that was welded was also the hinge for the leg to fold forward. The leg itself was "slotted" so you could adjust up and down. Similar to a jack-stand in nature.

So you would fold that piece down, and then the leg would retract or extend to meet the ground underneath. I believe it was a larger diameter square tubing, and the piece that would retract/extend was a smaller diameter square tubing that would fit into the larger piece.

It would fold up to the frame nice and snug, and be in line with the frame pointing forward. Very very clean and simple setup.

They are not really designed for jacking, just stabilizing. If you try to support all of the trailer's weight, they will usually fold/bend. (Been there, trying to change a tire...) But if all you want is to slow the rocking and prevent a tip-over-backwards type scenario, they work well.

Excellent, thank you so much. those are exactly what I was looking for.

No plans to support the whole weight of the trailer, but just to lower when we find a camping spot so the dumb thing doesn't tip over backwards after I release from the truck.

For what it's worth, I've purchased a few trailer items (tag mount and pintle hitch lock) from R&P Carriages on Ebay and they are good ebayers. No relation.
