Awnings and Awning Room for the Right side of the vehicle

i know it is easy to mount any square awing to the right side of the vehicle, that is simple. But is there anyone who makes an awning tent that either exit to the rear on the right side or has doors on both sides so you can exit to the rear of the vehicle when mounted on the right side.

To be honest not sure why they dont put two doors on all of them to make exit in case of fire easier...

Thanks in advance for replies...

my wife and I are pondering doing something different from the fiama we currently have on the curb side of our rig. I came across an interesting line of awning rooms that are free standing yet can attach to the rig. Most have front and rear doors.
Might be beyond what you are looking for but sure are thinking outside the typical mindset.

Lots of different sizes to fit just about anything out there from SUV to full blown class A.

Oh and even though my example is a UK company, they are available in the USA also.

Thom - did you have any issues with the Fiamma? I was just looking at those for our GM van. I thought they made enclosure walls for them as well.

Dang I have to remember to subscribe when I post!! Sorry for the late reply.
No. Never any issues.
That said...we are pondering selling the Fiamma F45 (we are down the coast from you). It is a 10ft wide unit and in great condition.

Pretty easy task to retrofit a large all-weather zipper in a panel as an emergency / alternate exit. Any decent seamstress could do it, affordably.

Thom - If you do decide to sell the Fiamma let me know. I'd be very interested.

Not sure if you have seen this thread or not, or if you are on Mud, but check these two threads out.

Ostrich Wing - Expedition Portal

Ostrich Wing - IH8MUD

It comes in both Driver and Passenger configurations. I will be getting a Passenger side configuration for ease of deployment on the side of the road if needed.
I was looking for the room that attaches below a single awning. I have discovered the CVT version has 3 doors and can be mounted on the left or right side.

I just picked up a RHS Ostrich awning after looking at them and pricing them for a few years, talked to different vendors in Europe, Australia and South Africa. My most recent communication with Big Country 4x4 in SA was fruitful and we have an awning on the way. About $900 shipped including air freight to Portland. I am not really interested in the side walls as I can't tolerate a complicated camp set up. It does come with one pole that is built into the support arm.

Once I get it and have it mounted I will get some pics up. Probably a couple months from now....

Nice shots of a great rig and fun area.
I showed my wife and said; "Gee honey, no matter how cool the rig there are more girlz like you that figure out some way to hide from the camera!"
;)

OH, as a PS...I see you two are from Portland Oregon. You picked a perfect time to be away from home.
I'm clocking winds of around !50mph at our place on the coast with the larger system arriving tomorrow with gusts expected over 100.
Life on the coast.

We decided with a RHS awning also and choose the Alucab ShadowAwning. I too look at the Ostrich but at the time shipping was too much.
Here are some pics when we mounted it and a Howlingmoon Stargazer to open on the LHS of our vehicle. The RTT has the annex that provides another a room where I can sleep while mom and the 2 little ones sleep upstairs. We will be looking into the awning walls in the future if we see fit for an extra "room".

We bought this for our trip to NC Hot springs and worked great for more room in the van, setup was fast and packs great.
Wife loved the seating and cooler space it made for days of camping.
