...I went with 235/75/16 and instantly regretted it...I'd go 225/75/16, loose ~1/2 ground clearance...

235/75-16 tires: 235 / 25.49 = 9.2 * .75 = 6.9 * 2 = 13.8 +16 = 29.8" tall
225/75-16 tires: 225 / 25.49 = 8.8 * .75 = 6.6 * 2 = 13.2 +16 = 29.2" tall
Total height difference is .6" so loss of ground clearance would be half that amount, .3". here at tacomaworld. You can overlay the tires and get a picture of it.
