I thought about putting together a cart that attaches to a harness so I could access remote areas with my equipment and not worry about not having something that I was not willing to carry in a back pack.

Maybe some day...

Honestly, I know people that carry everything. People being the operative word. I know professionals that have been doing this for 20+ years that carry specific gear. A good tripod, camera, a wide and a good tele with some filters is what many carry. Unless you shoot extreme macro and then a flash might come in handy. I know a lot of photographers that do not even bother with a mid range lens because they can move between the distances enough. Personally I take lenses to cover ther spectrum to 200which with a 1.5 crop comes out to something like 350mm give or take. I would like to have a 200-400 with a full frame but it is not in the cards at the moment.

Oh and don't forget the shutter release cord.
