Sweet pics, I'm looking forward to seeing Death Valley in a few weeks. Why are gas prices so high there?? They've dropped to 2.19 here.

Eh, cause that's in Panamint springs..... like the only gas station in Panamint Valley. They can charge what they want.:shakin:

That must be why he brought half a dozen gas cans! Sick Cruiser!! :clapsmile

In every National Park I've been through that sells gasoline, it's always a buck or so higher than outside the park. They really stick it in your brown eye for fuel in NP's.

Great photos, especially the porch shot. Anyone contract hantavirus? This thread is just whetting my appetite even more for DV....

hahahhaha yep, that's right on the gas prices.

The pic of the porch.. is Charles Mansons hideout way up in Goler wash.

The Army truck in my webshots is actually my last rig. Can you believe i sold it to get a 80? I know, im dumb.. but that's okay, i wanted something comfy and something more reliable for long hauls... and i can always get another m-715 again.

thanks for the great responses!

Worked great... just no sudden moves! It was a little bit top heavy. I only had 2 cans full of fuel. The rest were empty for this trip. Most of the gear was at camp when we were on the trails.. so the heaviest loads was out and back home on the highway. High winds made the rig about as aerodynamic as a brick on the way back home:)

Oh yeah and on the way to Mansons i had to have someone lift a tree branch over the jerry cans... that's about it though.

Nice pictures. I was out there earlier this year, I loved it. We camped at Wildrose where the temps were around the low 30's when we woke up, but by the time we got into furnace creek later that day it's was in the mid to high 80's. A pretty drastic change

Did you get a chance to go to the RaceTrack Playa? Next time I'm out there, I hope to take Lippencott road from the Racetrack over the mountains to Panamint.

Yeah it was nice.. couldnt of asked for better weather really. Low 70's during the day.. and 40's at night. Broke a sweat only once on our hike. Was pretty sweet.

We stayed at Panamint Resort... with a bunch of guys from Panamintcharlie.com.. it was part of their Hallowpalooza event.

We never made it to the race track... we ran out of time. We are gonna hit the race track, scotty's castle and many other places next time out.

We did have a blast for our very 1st time to Death Valley though!!
