Thanks all! I'm looking forward to seeing what this platform is like. I finally get to drive it to work tomorrow for the first time, so I'm pretty excited about that. I added my first "mod" this afternoon - a second row seat cover for the dog! I only took our dog in the Jeep on one trip, and he loved it so much I promised myself I'd start taking him more if I got another off road vehicle.

I also ordered a set of MAXSA traction mats which are a less expensive knock off of Maxtrax (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AV2HONS/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I've only used winches in the past for stuck moments, but I figured I'd get a set of these to see I can put them to use. If I like them and mess them up, I'll probably spring for the Maxtrax next time, but the price/reviews of these is hard to beat.

I've got those exact same traction pads. Two for three on recoveries in snow. Had to move a lot more snow than I was expecting to though. The angle needed to be pretty shallow for the front and rear tires to climb up.
If a tree is close by, I'd probably grab the winch cable and save a bit of time. No tree, or if I had to winch off-angle, I'd shovel snow and use the pads.

Man, this LC looks like new! :victory:

That's great to hear Scott! I think my first line of attack will be the winch like you said unless there's nothing to attach it to. I got stuck once in a big huge marsh type of thing with no trees or anything around, and it took us about 6 hours to get it out. I think if I had traction mats it would have only been like...4 hours :D

I have a set of those and can atest to their value. Only drawback is that they don't nest within each other like maxtrax do for ease of stacking and storage, but they're great otherwise.

My 5th gen 4runner with a cheap pvc pipe mount I fabbed up.
That's pretty slick - I like it.

I noticed that last night when I pulled them out of the box. I kept thinking "they have to stack better than this right?!". The good news is I have a lot of real estate on the roof rack, so I'll figure out something on how to get them to mount nice.

Since I added the heavy duty rear seat protector, I decided to take the dog to work and to pick up my wife from the airport today. She made it very clear that she was only ok with me spending so much on the LC if I let the dog ride in the car because I've never really let him ride in any of my vehicles in the past except for one trip to Moab. As long as the interior is protected, I'm good to go now!

He's saying "stop taking pics of me and let's go wheeling!"

Is anyone besides ARB making bumpers for the 200 yet?

TJM, VPR and CBI all have ones I've seen, however most are pretty difficult to get ahold of. Slee is going to release a rear bumper very soon which a lot of 200 owners are looking forward to. My ARB rear bumper can't take any swingouts for gas or spares, so I would consider the Slee rear when it comes out to replace the ARB if the clearance is close to as good as my current bumper.

Awesome truck! We're still planning to do that Utah traverse trip end of April. Let me know if you're interested. I too have the Escaper Buddies (great name) but haven't had to use them yet. They're only about an inch thicker than the stacked Maxtrax. At 1/3rd to 1/2 the price with better reviews (might have even been around longer), I too figured they were worth a try.
