Those Shelby and Roush packages, unless actually tuned and done up correctly, are sticker packages made to divorce those with more dollars than sense from their money. IMHO

Don't even get me started on Hennessey.

Yep...a lot of times they pay extra for a truck that's slower than stock with less payload...haha.

MSRP on 2021 302a are 50k CAD or higher here. Raptors all were 88K+ locally last I looked.
My mortgage is 119k currently, hard to justify truck payments larger than $1000 per month.

I just sit on the build and price page and build trucks I want and can never afford instead.

Damn, my mortgage. Well lets not discuss it... but yeah dude I've probably built every car available on every manufacturers website at least once. Having computers in our ready room has been a great addition.

But damn does it have cool chase rack and sticker package!

Is it riding season yet?
Ya i'm out on building my own for less, sure I could buy a nice lariat F150, supercharge it, long travel suspension etc and have a more capable truck for less money, but 0 warranty and basically 0 re sale value... No thanks. I'd rather pony up the change for a "real" raptor and just be done with it.

I've actually been looking for a gen 1 in reasonable condition for years, but people are retarded with them. Want within 20% of MSRP 7 years later with 60k miles. Not a chance.

Honestly for what most people want out of a Raptor, get any F150 that suits your needs/fits your budget, and drop it off at your local offroad shop and install a full Icon kit and you can probably make out for less... but for many it won't be a Raptor and thats half the reason. Or you could go super cheap and just install a DOOD grill and call it good.

Ive considered doing just that; Get a Single cab, long bed F150 and then drop it off to get suspension and a bed cap put on and then build a sleep platform and call it good. But then I look at the cost and I think about the making the jump to an F250 and do the same, but then I could just get a full slide in bed camper.... and then we hit the slippery slope.

I won't lie I'm shocked at the resale for GEN1 that isn't beat and isn't obscenely modified. When I took it to the dealership [last year and about 3k miles ago] they asked about how interested I was in trading it in, I said not very and they floated out 40k... So they must think that they can turn at least a few thousand dollars profit on a then 6 year old truck with 65k miles.

Oh and not to double post but I reached out to DeeZee about my tailgate strut and they first got back to me saying I wasn't eligible with the paperwork I provided them. I hit them with the ole

And today the pieces showed up to replace the nutsert and bottom mount.

I think the first gen Raptors look the nicest.
I really wanted an FX4 with the package the dark trim headlights and taillights etc when I bought my 2014.
The Raptor is that amped up to 11.

Great looking truck! I'll keep an eye out for you around town, was just down at Fiesta last Friday to let the Ridgebacks run wild for a while.
