The Baja 500 is this coming weekend and yesterday( Monday, May 31,2010) I took the quad and looked for a spot to photo and video the race as it comes into Erendira. Anyone familiar with this area probably knows of Baja Malibu and I was on the course above Malibu. Just a 3 shot sequence I took of Roger Norman in his Trophy Truck. Since we are friends you will see how close he came to me to say hello in the second photo. Not cropped and shot at the wide of 38mm. Also will add a few motorcycle and quad pre runners photos

Yikes that is close!

Are you there to spectate or are you working with a team?

I live in Erendira full time. End of July will be 6 years. Great place to live or visit. The locals are fabulous people. Fishing is fantastic from shore or renting a panga.

Did they move the fence line back along the shore? How are the wash outs along the same road this year?

A little off topic...What is that industrial plant used for in Erendira?

Phil: the course comes down the hill into the river bed and turns right on the main road and then uphill to the cell tower and hugs the mountains until dropping back onto the ocean road just before entering Punta Cabras and winding towards Santo Tomas. The course does not enter Erendira and not along the ocean. The plant in town is for packing aqriculture and the other plant just before going up the hill to Coyote Cals is for the growing of abalone from juvenile to a size that allows them to be put in the ocean to grow to adult. Then harvested and sent on to Japan. Free tours are available and quite a learning experience
