Baja Rack UT

Just installed my Baja Rack UT and like it a lot, good price and got a decent discount. This is beefy and will haul whatever I need.

I've been looking at racks but just can't pull the trigger...

1) Gobi: don't like the rear legs and the fact that you need stabilizer bumps against the hardtop and body but it looks great.
2) Front Runner: seams awesome and would work great but just seams to sit WAY to HIGH.
3) Baja Rack: looks great but in the pics of their own JKU it seams to sag in the middle with the roof top tent installed.

Do the give a weight rating? Will you be installing a roof top tent? If so please post pics and your results...

I have a maggiolina that will be going on top. That is why I went with the Utility Top, also if I need to get anything home from the home depot or otherplaces I can strap it to the flat top.

Gobi only has the stabilizer bumps against the body, nothing touches the hardtop.

You can run this rack with a soft top, Baja has pics of there racks on soft tops as well so pretty much the same concept at the GOBI, although I would not want to try and make this beast pivit backwards. I really like that there are no rails on this rack, really opens the usefulness of it up.

If these were more like $500, I'd settle for it instead of the Gobi. I can only find MSRP on their site though.

I really like that rack and have thought about purchasing one. It blends much better than the "I'm on safari!" Gobi roof rack, not to mention the price is a bit of a relief! Utility without showing off, I really can appreciate that.

With the money I saved from not buying a Gobi I am picking up an ARB awning and mounting brackets with cash to spare. Gobi makes a great rack, I just found the same quality with a rack that fits my needs. Baha also has other designs as well.

God I wish Baja made an LJ rack, I really like how it fits on low on the TJs. They said they'd only build one if a lot of people started asking for it, squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that.
