Did the bracket end up working with the V2+ and extended battery? Looking at the UV-5R V2+ with extended battery today as well (on sale at Woot.)

The UV5r V2+ and the noted extended battery will work. The casing is essentially the same as the UV5R, internals are updated. The 3800 and 3600 mAh batteries are the same depth, just longer.
The mount also works with the newer BF-F8HP radio with large cap 2000 mAh battery which is deeper than a standard UV5R battery by breaking off the top center tab on the radio mount.

Very late comment but I am looking for a RAM mount and noticed that in the first post you show one type of suction mount (2.75" suction cup base) but in the second post you have a different one (3.3" suction cup base). Did the first one not provide enough grip or is that just a different vehicle or something else? I want to make sure I get one that will work well.
