Battery disconnect

Hey

I have a setup which works good but I want to change it slightly. I need a source for either a HD switch or a relay controlled by a switch. I have two series 30 trolling motor batteries with a 242 amp/hr reserve capacity connected in parrallel (I have 4awg wiring direct now) running a Cobra 2200watt DC to AC inverter which has a seperate on/off control panel. The whole systems works great for a fridge, TV, microwave and have not run out of juice yet; but, I want to be able to disconnect the batteries from the inverter when I want. I was thinking of a switch/breaker setup.

What do you guys think?

Blue Sea Systems

Pete:

Blue Sea Systems makes a slew of different battery switches - both manual and electrical. Their catalog (downloadable as a pdf) has information on different setups and recommended switches.

I'd check them out, figure out what I wanted to use, and then purchase it from West Marine if I was in a hurry (West Marine has most of the Blue Sea Product line in stock but they are an expensive vendor) or use Froogle to find it cheaper. A lot of vendors sell Blue Sea stuff on Ebay.

Good luck,
