Battery Monitor find

Low tech page - nice to see something simple & direct after all of the splashy marketing out there.

What caught my eye was this unit:

80% discharge threshold though. If that is a programmable feature then I can see this simple unit not only acting as a "fuel gauge" for a house bank, but also protecting it from too deep of a discharge. I've sent an email asking if this is a programmable function.

Any idea of the price of that unit?

I find my Xantrex battery monitor to be very useful:

It gives numerical readouts of % remaining, amp-hrs consumed, voltage, current in/out; among other things. It's sensitive enough to tell me that my solar panels draw 100mA when covered with snow, so I turned them off. That's something an analog display won't tell you.

Not yet.

What I'm looking for is a lower cost unit that is more suited towards a simple system.

I just got an email from the mfg. They're telling me that retail is $217 each.

For just a simple monitor that might be more than I'd want to spend. For one with a programmable alarm and disconnect circuit I'm going to think on it a bit.

If you are looking for a great battery display, check this out. I've had one in my Chaser since they first released them last year and it's still perfect and it does everything anyone would need for a display of battery life, condition, etc.
