BBJ- 1 Ton Silverado Build.

I figured I would get off my duff and post a build thread for my Duramax. I bought it with the intention of a weekend camper/hauler a few years ago but ended up daily driving it for a while. Bought a new to me Yukon for a daily a few months ago so I can now use this thing when needed as I had intended.

07 Silverado Classic Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4
Duramax/Allison
209k miles or so as of this last weekend. Bought it with 174k bone stock. Clean as a whistle complete with Old Man Carpet Dash Mat.

Fun Stuff:
4-6" Cognito NTBD lift set basically flat with no blocks or AAL in the rear. (Sags a bit but not sure I'm going to mess with it on the current setup)
Fox 2.5s
Kryptonite Steering, Wheel Bearings, UCAs, Etc.
Cognito FIPK
Titan Fuel Tank
Custom Front Bumper w/ M12000
Few Items on the motor + EFI live but largely factory.
EDGE Monitor
Garmin GPS in the Sunglasses holder
Katskins Leahter w/ Full Console.
Few other odds and ends

Few Things it Needs:
-Cab Bushings.
-More Money saved up for trans. (Slips a little under serious load but livable)
-Need to finish modifying the core support to trim some more metal and move/replace the washer tank
- Roof Rack for the Shell
-More Miles on it.

This is about where it sits as of today. I've got a list of things a mile long I want to do but life comes before the truck so this might be a slow build. I'm using it in the current form but in hind site I wish I would have solid axle swapped it from the word go since I've got a small fortune tied up in the front end.... I've started collecting parts for the swap but am in no giant rush.

Guess I deleted the rest of the text when I posted the picture.

- Plans are to get it setup and reliable to take my two boys, wife, and the dog: camping, hunting, fishing, and whatever else. I almost never use the bed space for the same thing twice and still use the old girl for work fairly often so anything we do that facilitates camping/over-loading needs to be either removable or not get in the way of regular old truck duties.

- I mentioned something about the springs early on as I've never been a fan of the 1-ton springs of this vintage. They are the worst of both worlds as they ride like a covered wagon but sag quite a bit with a large load. (Bed full of junk and the boat hooked up is noticable). I would like to swap over to deavers with helper bags but a change in ride height with the SAS makes that a little tricky. Still trying to make up my mind.

-Electronic gadgets are on the menu-
-I've got a Double Din Screen (Sony) that has thus far been a complete piece of crap. I need to replace it, get the steering wheel controls working again, and hook up cameras (I've got one on the back bumper and a space for one in the front skid plate). I'm looking for suggestions on a forward facing camera as the last two I've bought were "forward facing" but the image was reversed on the screen. I'll add some other stereo goodies and probably a DVD player for the boys at some point.
-In bed power: I'm planing on adding some lighting in the shell (in addition to the factory dome) along with some 12v/ USB outlets.
-Inverter: I've got one in the back floorboard right now that has worked for what limited use it's gotten but I'm still researching what fits my needs for a more permanant solution.

- Rear Bumper: So this thing will never have a great or even marginal approach/departure angle but I can at least make it some what better... I eventually want to build a tube rear bumper to match the front but I first need to wrap my head around how that works while keeping the class 5 hitch. I've got some ideas doodled up along with "rally cutting" the bottom of the 3/4 panels but haven't made it happen in real life yet.

Thank you sir.. Been watching yours for a long time. I had a string of 1/2 ton chevys that I rotated through every 3-4 years (I drive quite a bit for work) and always seemed to get them built up the way I wanted and then sold them since miles were getting up there. Decided on this one to build what I wanted and have a daily driver for 95% of my work duties. The 05-07s are certainly my favorite years.
