Bear Grylls is new LR global ambassador

... if his resume is what is turning you off then you are unimaginably difficult to please.

Well, if you must know, yes I am.

I'll tell you what "turns me off" is having everyone and every-brand constantly telling me just how flippin' fabulous they are.

Someone once said, "well done is better than well said."

Now, I've got work to do thanks.

To avoid a big disappointment, you should get un-"excited" as I think it's just an announcement of the useless discovery "sport" /toy car with less capability, less cargo space, less adaptable.
No, I think there is some sort of adventure or expedition associated with it. Hopefully a Camel Trophy-type event. That would be cool.

Because Bear is the new spokesman? A man that has a hit series, has climbed Everest, crossed the Atlantic in an open top rigid inflatable, and was an SAS member? Seriously, if his resume is what is turning you off then you are unimaginably difficult to please.

I've had respect for Bear Grylls ever since I found out that not only had he done all those things, but did them after he had broken his back in a military parachute jump, and had to learn how to walk again after years of physical therapy.

Nothing against self promotion. Walmart just has so much wrong with it that I can't help but look at his support in a bad light. That takes nothing away from his accomplishments, perhaps his values though.

No he is not. You have already made your decision about him and you are, as stated, impossible to please.

For an average consumer, Bear is an outdoors expert, has done an incredible amount of seriously difficult things, and, most of all, knows his ****. Who else should be the spokesperson, knowing that LR wants an outdoors expert that everyone knows? Yeah, sure, there is 'Survivorman' but who the hell knows who he is? I can tell you that the Columbia Law graduate (saw those on the back of a new RR today) does not.

Just for the record, I hold nothing against commercial "sell outs" because if I had anything worth "selling out" like Bear's actual outdoor acumen that I could use to peddle a show and/or outdoor gear for a good amount of money (read as more money than I would make by not selling out or pandering to an audience that has money) I would have already done so. Assuming that I am not blatantly lying "these pants will allow you to punch a grizzly bear in the face and not suffer any repercussions" I am ok with it.

As it stands...I have received no offers to endorse products

Heck, If I was Bear (depending on the time commitment) I would represent them for two free range rovers (one supercharged and one regular).
