It wasn't just stiffness. I air them down to about 18 psi they are not to stiff then. I have run various tires ranging from mild ATs to MTs on several different rigs. The ST Max tires are heavy. I have liked the BFG ATs the most however my last set did not make it more than about 42k before they needed to be replaced.
