Behind the Scenes in Zion National Park: Moody Family Adventures

Looking to utilize the President's Day weekend, we made a quick jaunt to visit my nearly 94 year old grandmother and of course go see Zion NP.

Zion has a magical element to it. Here are a few photos to inspire you to get your family out on a simple weekend adventure. No 4wd, ARB lockers, or fridges required. Our adventure vehicle consisted of our recently acquired 1986 Honda Accord LX (Grandma just gave it to me with a whopping 56k on the clock). Along for the weekend was Hilary, and our two kids Zander and Liv.

It was a bluebird day, very little wind, and a comfortable temperature if you were active. The park was extremely busy, so we decided to head out of the main canyon and see where the wind would blow us. We pulled out on a random turnout, and started hiking. We figured if we followed the deer tracks we came across we would see a nice side canyon, the deer know where all the good spots are. We figured right.

Great trip report as usual-seeing pictures of your family outings always brightens my day. I cannot wait to see more pictures from your weekend. Also nice to see someone doing a trip report with a low budget car.

Thanks guys- Sometimes the short, simple weekend trips can be the most rejuvenating. Highly encourage you to get out there! Life is too short to waste you time talking about it.

Great story!. A friend once told me, "Zion is like Yosemite, but in color rather than b&w.". So true!
