Yeah, I see what you mean now, I didn't go far enough back.

You will probably have to go to the Admin page or email them directly for them to even see your questions. Fortunately, I did not use Photobucket at all , and uploaded all my pictures to the forum using it's built in uploader. However, I do not like the current one at all. It's too squirrely and I never know what it's going to do until I see it.

Portal axles and 6 wheel drive? Pretty sure that thing needs a composite box on the back with a pop top. And a lite duty camper interior.

Can’t make up my mind. The soft top has its attraction, especially insulated, but doesn’t lend itself especially well to “camper” build outs. And it needs to stay light. These aren’t especially powerhouses in the engine department.

You could make some diy composite panels with extruded aluminum edges. They could attach to a lightweight (or existing) frame with some tension latches. A bit of automotive door seal at the seams. They would weigh very little, and you could remove if needed. Something like a 3/4" foam board with 1/16" gel coated fiberglass sheets bonded to each side.

You could also build a light frame, and attach some polycarbonate panels with 1/4 turn fasteners.

aren't those things real good for being a death trap if you put it on its top...... if so... if you never put it on its top and all is good!!!! I'de take one even with that.

I supposed it depends on how bad the roll over. Probably no worse than a stock Jeep with its stock “roll bar”. Those are tissue thin. The front and rear supoorts for the soft top are supposed to function as roll bars, so who knows. No intention to test it out. :)

my not so stock TJ (but stock roll bar) and myself along my best friend Jake (yellow lab) rolled of a bank after sliding on ice on I5 at black butte two and three quarter times ... no injuries.. pulled the roll bar back the one inch it moved forward with hydraulic body shop system, got a new top and drove it hard for 5 more years. Really don't think a Halfy's roll system will do that.... have seen the pics of this model Halfy's pancaked upside down... course then again... pics of the BAD ones stay on the net forever.... all the smaller "mishap" pics fall away over time.

but that is a different topic for different thread..... really do love the amazing Halfy though, just keeping perspective. Enjoy it.

a misspelled Halfy (gotta love auto correct) aka.... Halfy aka nick name for Haflinger; aka. I mixed up the name again between Halfy and Pinz/Pinzgauer :giggle: . Halfy's squash lot easier than Pinz's though. for Both the strongest is the Ambo versions.

Ah, yeah it's a Pinz not a haflinger. Either case I'm not too concerned about it.
