Definitely great advise moparmiller! rock auto has a great video explaining exactly what's going on here.. Tensioner and idler should always be replaced at the same time. It could save your alternator.

I put a new belt (green gates) and replaced a few of the pulleys on my ambo. Turned out the bearings in both alternators were gone.
