A little off topic but that post brought back memories. Many many years ago I was at a NASCAR research and development center. They had a bare chassis sitting on what is know as a 5 post rig. Basically 5 computerized pogo sticks. There is a post under each wheel and one on the chassis. They were working on Electromagnetic Suspension! This was probably 15 years ago. The same 5 post rig would also be used to develop suspension seating.

After suffering leg and back pain from the OEM seats in my Landcruiser I installed a new Recaro Specialist in the driver's slot seat several years ago. I flat out love the seat; especially the seat bottom extension for additional thigh support that is soooo nice on long stretches of highway. I'm 5'10" and 200lbs and it fits very well. But I'm at the max size for this seat. Lower side bolsters make getting in/out easy.

How many hours have you spent comfortably in that seat? Subjective, yes, i know... but curious when people give answers if they do a lot of long distance driving or not.

I probably have 50,000 miles on it. Plenty of hard trail miles as well as lengthy stretches of highway from Central Coast CA to eastern Nebraska and all point in between. The only little nit I have with it: The manual back incline mechanism tends to loosen slightly especially on big washboard/rough terrain. So I just need to reach down and move the seat back to my favorite angle. The electric versions presumably do away with such an issue.

I love those Recaro seat leg extensions! Way back when, I bought a parts car BMW 320is with a bad motor for my 320i just because it had a pristine factory black vinyl Recaro interior with the seat leg extensions (okay, and a few other "s" model bits) and I've missed those ever since!
Corbeau does a reasonable job at a reasonable price, they are not Recaro quality, nor Recaro price. I've had the Corbeau GTS II in black cloth - very comfortable, a bit narrow, too much lower side bolster for easy van ingress/egress, fabric fades and wears over time. Corbeau Baja XRS in black vinyl - comfortable (suspension seat) and a bit wider seat but I missed having adjustable headrests, lower side bolster for easier maneuvering in and out, vinyl material is fairly durable and not faded. Corbeau Sport Seat in vinyl - comfortable, wish the seat base was longer overall for my legs, low-ish bolsters but still supportive.
I've driven all of these seats in 8 to 10 hour stretches at times and been comfortable enough in all of them.

I found some very comfortable seats from a late-model Grand Cherokee and installed them in my large (1.5 ton) Chevy 4x4. Nice comfortable ride.
